Millwick Wedding Venue Arts District
Millwick’s wedding venue, owned by Marvimon, has to be one of my favorite outdoor wedding venues out of all their properties. Marvimon owns other venue locations such as Smoggshope, Valentine, Grass Room, and Flora Chang (all affordable venues). Located in the heart of the arts district, a couple of miles away from downtown Los Angeles, this is in the perfect location. The arts district is on the rise featuring some of the bests breweries, restaurants, and coffee shops in downtown la. Millwick was originally a warehouse but now feels like a reinvented indoor and outdoor garden with unique and vintage furniture to host weddings, events, receptions, and parties. The venue has a beautiful outdoor garden with lush greenery and various plants. The outdoor space is perfect for an intimate ceremony or cocktail hour. There are also plenty of indoor spaces to choose from, including the main reception area, which can accommodate up to 200 guests. The ballroom features high ceilings, exposed brick walls, and modern lighting fixtures.
The staff at Millwick are incredibly helpful and accommodating. They work hard to make sure that your special day is nothing short of perfect. The venue offers various catering options, from full-service plated dinners to buffet-style meals. Whether you’re looking for a traditional or modern wedding, Millwick has something for everyone.
Millwick is the perfect place for couples who want a unique and memorable wedding. The venue offers an intimate atmosphere with plenty of spaces to choose from. With its convenient location, delicious catering options, and helpful staff, Millwick is the perfect place for your special day.
The Bride & Groom
The bride and groom chose the perfect venue. Most couples decide to get ready at hotels, but since they were having a smaller private wedding, we were able to capture the getting-ready photos in the bridal suite. We began with the bridesmaids helping the bride put on her wedding dress in front of the mirror (one of my favorite photographs).
Because the groom had his suit on and was ready to go, we started the day pretty quickly. We were able to do the first look in the garden courtyard, walk across the street, photographed at the top of the parking garage, and head back to the venue for family photos, all in 30 minutes. Luckily traffic was light, so we got amazing shots crossing the downtown Los Angeles streets. Because of a fantastic coordinator in Helen Cho, we were able to be efficient with our time and get back before the wedding guests arrived.
Once the wedding guests arrived, we captured some amazing candid shots of them mingling in the garden courtyard. The ceremony was held in the outdoor garden, and it was short, romantic, but beautiful. It was a very intimate ceremony with only close family and friends. After the ceremony, we took some family photos and headed to the reception area for cocktail hour.
The bride and groom had their first dance in the main reception room, and then their guests enjoyed dinner and dancing. We captured some amazing photos of the bride and groom dancing with their parents, as well as some fun shots of them cutting the cake. Family and friends celebrated with the couple through the night with a lot of dancing, laughter, and fun. The night ended with a sparkler send-off and a few romantic shots in front of the venue.
Overall, Millwick was an amazing wedding venue for Karen and Jason’s special. Los Angeles wedding photographers will be in love with this venue. Thank you so much for allowing us to capture your wedding day!
